I'm Done

Yup, Jury Duty is over.

I wish I could say it was a great experience and that I was truly amazed at the wonder of our court system.

I wish I could say that I have every faith in our law enforcement officers, our State Attorney's, and fellow jurors.

I wish I could say that our court system truly looks out for the best interest of those accused of a crime and those who are the victims of a crime.

But I can't and I won't.

I've been selected for jury duty.

I've had to sit in front of the defendant and his attorney. During jury selection she focused on me. I'm in the front row withh 5 other people.

The Prosecution raises an objection during one of the Defence questions to the potential jurors. (which I am thrilled about because I had no real clue what she was asking) She did not repeat the question.

Questions are asked, stories are told.

24 people are in the room. One is excused because she claims she doesn't understand English (even though she has lived here 4 years and has a Driver's License), one is excused because his hearing aid doesn't work at a distance, one is excused because she is married to a Sheriff Officer who is friends with a witness (more on that later).

They need a jury of 6, down to 21.

I cannot believe I have been seated on this cases
