Thank You Internets!

I wanted to take a minute and thank everyone for the condolences over the recent death of my father. I really appreciate every one who took the time to leave a note, email me, send me a Facebook message.

It's been a real crazy couple of weeks. Two days after my father died my girlfriend and her husband stopped by to visit with us and see if they could do anything. She said a couple of different times that she could not imagine loosing her father. Her family lives in Pennsylvania. We've met her parents, she has met my parents. We just never got our parents to visit us at the same time, so our parent never met. If they had, they would have loved each other because they are so much alike. Anyway, the next morning she received word that her father had dropped dead of a heart attack.

God, I felt awful. I felt like I was killing fathers. I left work immediately to go to her and help her through the loss. I even called a couple of other friends whose fathers were still alive and told them to stay away from me.

We buried my father Sunday, January 25, 2008, she buried her father Saturday, January 24, 2008.

I am not going to promise to be back to posting every day. But I am really going to try and post more often.

We were at a wedding in Key West last weekend. Boy do I have some stories about that!!

Thank you again, internets. You all truly did help me through a very dark time.

It's been a long time, my friend. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. As well as your friends. How tragic to lose both of your fathers. Growing up my father and I didn't get along. Now that we both have grown up we are very close. I think time heals all wounds. I know that you will always miss your dad, and I am sorry you feel that way. But your love and memories will keep him forever in your heart. God bless you my friend. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, Trish, I am just the worst blogger friend ever! I have been so bad about making the rounds to see my friends and I had no idea you were going through this. I'm so, so sorry! I really wish I'd been there for you and will forever be kicking myself now.

Please know I'm here if you ever need someone to vent to. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. I know you're on a long road to healing so know that you have my love, prayers and positive energy. *hug*
