How Do You Support Your Community?

As most of you know I work for a non profit. I am the Development Director. Which means I am responsible for fundraising and grant writing.

I am also on the Board of Directors for our local Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.

I am also the Past President (again) for our local Coalition for the Homeless.

I am starting my second year as Secretary for my Rotary Club.

Not a Grampy and I also participate in Habitat for Humanity builds here in our county.

We raised a Girl Scout and a Boy Scout.

So, I must ask, when do we get a break?????

When can I really help someone?

uh oh. Sounds like you have had a tough day. Need a Hug?

You are very selfless, and I think you deserve a break if you need one.

blue-hugs, lots of them.

avitable-it seems the more we do the more need there is. This economy has gone down the tubes and no one really seems to care!

I think this is a good question...I work for a non-profit, too, and I am directly involved with clients so I get the satisfaction of helping. I am going to school, too, though, and I know that while my salary and opportunities will grow after I finish school, the thought of being higher in an organization brings with it the sad truth that I will have less "face-time" with the very people I want to help. Tricky tricky.
